About Me
My journey abroad began when my marine biology advisor flat out told me I was in the wrong major. He advised I should drop out, move to Tokyo, live in a cramped apartment and eat ramen everyday, and teach English. While I didn’t end up doing exactly that, I did study abroad in Osaka for six months before moving to a rural part of northern Nagano Prefecture for the JET Program once I graduated. It is a place of corn and blueberries, snow and mountains, and I have loved every part of the last two years.
When I’m not at school, I enjoy reading My Hero Academia, capturing my rural life with my trusty Nikon D5200, and snowboarding in winter.
I’m also happy to say that I married my boyfriend of 5 years in a surprise ceremony in Hawai’i in June of 2019. I can’t wait to explore the world with him!

Below is a map with links to posts about places explored and food eaten. Feel free to check out anything that catches your eye! Thanks for visiting and happy travels!
Jaye – glad you are writing a blog – hang with it as many of us back in the states would love to keep up with what you are doing.
