Goshuin number 22 is from the 大光院 (Daikoin), a huge Buddhist temple in Gunma Prefecture.

I was driving back from the Tateyama Castle ruins when I suddenly saw part of the huge roof through the trees. I KNEW I had to turn around and check it out!

According to an English sign nearby, this temple was built by Tokugawa Ieyasu and is dedicated to Benzaiten, the god of music. I think my favorite things about this temple are its huge size and color! Usually, temples and shrines are bright red; this one was painted a slightly different shade, and it looked beautiful next to the green of the trees and the blue accents.
